If you drive over an hour away to enjoy a Japanese buffet, one must think there is something special, and sure enough, there is with this location of Shinju in Coral Springs. We have been here many times before, however our latest visit was special in that we were celebrating my sister's and fiance's engagement. We were so excited this would be the venue and they did not let us down. The service is fantastic, the facility is clean and pristene and the quality AND quantity of food items - even during lunch - was fantastic. You could go to a lot of different places for Sushi and Hibachi and other great tastes, but Shinju is a notch above the rest.

Is it weird that I go to Shinju alone? It's not that I have no friends or anything like that and it's not like I eat an embarrassingly large amount of food, but Shinju is kind of like, "my place". I could go to a coffee shop, yes, but I'd rather eat endlessly while I collect my thoughts. 1. Make sure to go during the right time of day. This means, early enough so that the food is still fresh and the wait is minimal to none. My biggest fear is eating sushi that has sat out since, well, yesterday... 2. I always ask for a water in addition to my drink- in case my server isn't, well, a good server. 3. IMHO the best way to do Shinju is two separate plates: sushi versus Chinese. 4. Always save room for ice cream, but skip the fruit and dessert table. The fruit is not good and no one like Chinese desserts. Last but not least- don't forget to go back for more.

This is my favorite location of the Shinju buffet franchise. It is mostly clean, the exceptions being the plates which sometimes are still wet with gunk during really busy hours. I prefer to eat at Shinju for lunch only, because the price jump between lunch and dinner (lunch is about $12, and dinner doubles in price, plus a little more during weekend nights) does not seem worth it to me (dinner sees the addition of a raw bar, sashimi, and crab legs). Be prepared to wait for a table during weekend nights; I waited over 30 minutes for a table for two at 7 pm. Service is fast, but bare interaction. The waitress will ask for your drink order and clear your table when you finish your plate, but that's about it. Shinju offers a great variety of sushi rolls, and if you ask for it, you can get hand rolls. Rolls taste fresh and are changed out very often during peak hours. In the back, there are hot soups, hot Asian food staples (tempura, stir-fry, rice and noodles), as well as a cook-to-order teppanyaki. These never really disappoint. The food is prepared in smaller batches, which means it is changed out very often and tastes fresher than foods left out for longer at other buffets. There is also a solid dessert bar, which has many ice creams, mini cake desserts, and fruit to finish out your meal. Shinju is a solid buffet choice, whether you go for lunch or dinner. It is reasonably priced, but during peak times, you may find yourself waiting for a table.

Not bad for a buffett style place. Overall they have good quality fish and other food options. Most of the sushi tasted of a pretty good quality, but whenever you are eating at a buffett you have to be skeptical. Staff was friendly and place was clean.

We go here a lot and frequently bring visitors here. Wait time not so bad couple minutes. It's nicely decorated and clean. Just enough space between tables compared to other buffet places. Price is pretty reasonable for the quality of food here which is good. Though they are not 1000% on their A game like when they first opened, place is still really good. Fresh food. They have a Hibachi station and sushi. I don't like sushi but my family does and they love it. They have really good choices. I definitely recommend the calamari, fried sweet potatoes, the teriyaki salmon which tastes so good and sweet, the coconut shrimp and salted string beans. I am a huge cheese Rangoon/crab Rangoon fan and their Rangoons used to be crispy and delicious. Now ehh I don't even get it anymore coz it's stale. Nothing compares to Pei Wei rangoons in my opinion. For dessert, it's pretty good. I love the strawberry sauce and bananas, cookies n cream ice cream and red bean ice cream. I hate any kind of beans but the red bean ice cream tastes exactly like Nesquik strawberry shake. little cake stuff tastes fresh to me compared to other buffets that taste very stale. Overall, still pretty good. Will continue to go here and recommend.

I come here a lot since its walking distance from home. Decent selection of sushi rolls and nice sashimi for dinner. I like the hibachi a lot and the small desserts. The place its clean, snd staff are friendly. It is next to a Publix so the parking lot can get crazy. Its is always crowded so don't come in a rush.

Went shortly after they opened for the day for lunch and food was just alright. They didn't have many choices for rolls. They seemed like they had been sitting out for a while even though they had just opened. They only had about 8 rolls and they hadn't been labeled yet. I like that they put eel in the rolls. I wasn't suprised by the lack of quality because it's a buffet. Crab Rangoons had no filling in them and they were over fried, yet cold. They didn't replace the rolls as they were finished the entire time we were there. Hot food wasn't great either.

The only reason I am giving two stars is because the manager gave us 20% off for take out which was nice but didn't make up for the fact that when we walked in at 9:00 they told us they were closed. We didn't get to sit down and they had already turned off the grill for the hibachi. The advertised closing time is 9:30!!! The shinju on glades would never turn customers away from a table! We got the food to go thinking it would be the same as the other shinju but it's not.. The sushi selection was sparse and the rest of the food was just disgusting. The place looked clean. we weren't the only ones they turned away.. I won't be returning

The food is great and the sushi is usually fresh. Everything is neat and tidy in the food department. I have no complaints with the food. My only issue with this place is their closing procedure. A friend of mine and I came at around 9:06 pm and they refused to seat us. The places closes at 9:30 but their last time for seating is 9pm. The man at the front desk reminded us of the final seating procedure and couldn't even excuse the fact that it was only 6 minutes past the hour. Mind you, there were people who were waiting to be seated inside as well. We were craving sushi and even promised not to take long! That experience truly ticked us off. We ended up going to Benihana down the street and paying $30 each for 3 pieces of shrimp, some dry chicken and fried rice. It was a disappointing evening. 6 minutes!!! C'mon!!

This place isn't bad but it's just not as good as others in the world of sushi buffet's. The rice-sushi slices are very small so you tend to fill up on more than you might really want. To me, I thought they were also a bit tasteless. Soup selection is good with four (4) choices. The hot buffet section is just poor and lacks flavor or variety. The pot stickers, which I know are chinese and not japanese, are just terrible. For sushi, they have the same variety as other places in our area but I especially like the raw fish section that is without rice rolls. It's pretty good and the seaweed salad is one of my favorites. I try to avoid the snow crab clusters because I don't want to fight the people trying to make their entire meal from them. The desserts are alright but not exceptional. What you're getting here is volume, not quality, so let that be your guiding principle when you go here.

I wish there were buffets like this where I live. To pay less than $20 for the quality of food found here is amazing! The main attraction here is the sushi, where you'll find about two dozen different types of rolls, along with seaweed or ginger salad. There's also crab legs, raw oysters, shrimp. On the far end of the buffet, there's your typical american items, and the wonderful hibachi where you can pick your ingredients to fry up. All the food here is delicious, and is very good for the price. A must visit!

I was really pleasantly surprised by this place! I'd even go as far as to say I'm fairly impressed and since originally starting the draft for this review we've actually eaten here 2 more times. I'll start by saying that the service was great! Our Waitress kept our table free of empty plates, made sure we had fresh water and since we ordered 2 different types of Hot Tea ($1.75 per pot @ lunch) she checked to make sure it was still hot and full. But since no one goes to a restaurant just for the service let me give you the full deal from my perspective. We drive to Coral Springs from Delray every 6 weeks or so to have our hair done and while there the last time we wanted to eat at someplace different. In reviewing what was close to us (on Yelp) we were intrigued to see high marks and good reviews for what appeared to be at first, just another Asian Buffet. Unfortunately, I'm someone that would admittedly rather eat at McDonalds than most buffets (Golden Corral anyone?) So, just to get me to cross the threshold was a feat in itself with the wife having to coerce me with promises she hoped she'd never have to keep! But as we were being escorted to our seats I happened to notice that this "typical Asian Buffet" was anything but! Instead of seeing the regular buffet crowd of a sea of blue haired retirees that for the right price are willing to eat warm water with yellow dye and call it Egg Drop Soup that it was more than half filled with Asian-American families with many of the larger tables occupied with Grand Parents to small children all apparently enjoying what was offered. To me, this appeared to be a good sign and it was! I tried many, (trust me MANY) of the dishes offered. I had 3 or 4 different types of Sushi & Sashimi, all fresh and all with signs telling you what they are and if they're raw, partially raw or cooked. I also had stir-fry from the Hibachi, a couple of the cold salads (their seaweed salad is the freshest & best I've ever had) and a plate of the various noshes I love at Asian-American restaurants like fried dumplings, Crab Rangoon, Spring Rolls, Chicken Wings, etc. I can't honestly say what I liked best because everything I had I liked. I also appreciate that they offer a combination of Japanese & Chinese style Asian-American food. They have Japanese Miso soup and Chinese Egg Drop & Won-Ton. Incidentally, if you like Egg-Drop soup theirs is very good. It doesn't contain artificial dye (so it's not mustard yellow) and you can tell it's fresh with the egg flavor coming thru just enough to enhance the rich chicken stock. Besides the Spring Rolls & appetizer stuff on the hot buffet there's a variety of Chinese style stir fries i.e Bourbon Chicken, Vegetable Lo-Mein, Beef & Broccoli etc. At the Hibachi you tell the Chef exactly what you'd like in your stir fry and how much of what. You pick your proteins beef, chicken, or shrimp, (mixing is encouraged) your vegetables (onions, mushrooms, bean sprouts, Zucchini etc) and what sauce(s) you want i.e Soy, Garlic Butter, Sriracha, Teriyaki etc. On the cold bar, besides Sushi & Sashimi there's peel and eat shrimp, cold cooked mussels, several salads like sesame noodles, (very good) Seaweed Salad, a big variety of fresh fruit, mini pastries and 8 or 9 different flavors of ice cream including green tea, red bean, coconut and the regular standbys, chocolate vanilla and strawberry. It was funny because sitting near us was a party of 4 young guys. 4 BIG young guys all being close to 6' or more and none of them showing any signs of missing a meal lately (or ever!) but what I found amusing was that from their plates you couldn't tell they were eating at the same restaurant! One had a heaping mound of sushi, one had a large Stir-Fry from the Hibachi and one of the others had a plate full of wings and rice. So there's really something for everyone! We left very full, very satisfied, and best of all without much damage to our wallets! We're really looking forward to returning and trying everything we couldn't this time.

This place always hits the spot for my sushi fix. The food has always been good and fresh. Do not look for a big show boat type of atmosphere. Buffet is the theme. But well organized. Wait staff is quick to clear and refill your glass of favorite fountain beverage or tea. Plates and silverware have always been clean. Crab and oysters are plentiful at peak times. The desserts are tasty but the usual fruit cake and ice creams. If you come at peak times be prepared to wait.

My husband and I have been coming to Shinju for years. It's one of our go to places for buffet and sushi. My husband is the sushi eater and he says the sushi here is decent. I love their hibachi!! This is what I always get when I come here. They also have good tempura shrimp and chicken wings. The service is always good and consistant. The waitresses always refill your drinks accordinly. Their interior could use a bit of a facelift though. Just a suggestion. If you haven't tried Shinju it's worth a go. You wont be disappointed.

Disappointed. The atmosphere was nice, the Yelp reviews and the look of the waitstaff, buffet, and decor had me excited to try it out. I shouldn't have set my expectations so high. I got there early for lunch, around 11:20. The sushi selection, freshness, and taste was good, but I didn't find anything great. The hot buffet was limited- and about half of that was fried. :( I did try a Crab Rangoon and an Egg Roll, however they both tasted like they were cooked in old, burnt oil. I couldn't find anything else I liked, so I ended up sampling the Miso soup and the Hot and Sour soup. Both of these soups were good, but I wasn't expecting to pay $15 (w/drink & tax) for soup. I almost forgot to mention that the waitress didn't come by once to refill my drink or check on anything. Sad, especially since there was only two other occupied tables.

Came here for my birthday about a week ago and I have to say this was some of the best sushi I have ever tasted. The cuts of meat for that and for everything else were so awesome. Everything was wonderful here. I was apprehensive at first because of the buffet setup with the sushi but it was so fresh and delicious. Yum. I wish it wasn't as expensive as it is but for the quality of food they serve I don't mind paying a bit extra.

Not my first visit and have been coming here for several years. It's one of the best Japanese buffets in the area. Love the salads especially the octopus salad, sashimi salad, and the mixed rice sticks and seaweed salad, not to be found elsewhere. The sushi is good, not great but adequate. The hot food has a lot of variety and I especially like the garlic green beans, the cheesy crab casserole, and the fried potatoes. They have a very good green tea ice cream and lots of standard desserts. Service is good, plates are whisked away promptly. Highly recommend!

I came for lunch today and honestly it was the worst sushi I have ever had. Nothing looked fresh.. Some of it was very fishy..I really hope I don't get sick. Publix has way better sushi than this!! The only good part was the hibachi grill and even that was just okay... At least the guy cooking the hibachi was very friendly! I don't know if this location would be better during dinner, but I won't be back!!

Let me start by saying that if I can get remarried I would have my rehearsal dinner at this place... I get that it's buffet but it is so amazing that I want to share that experience with everyone I know. It is a Japanese buffet but there's so many choices that would apply to anyone. "Fried rice yall" my favorite thing about this place is the hibachi. I'm just gonna break it down for you there's steak, chicken, shrimp, and something else that Im having a hard time remembering. There's also the unbelievable sushi bar is phenomenal all the words can't describe how excited I get just to go and look at all of the amazing fresh sushi... Please note it's expensive but always worth it.

Go when the place is busy so you get fresher food.... I went around 5, seemed like I got lunch leftovers. Sushi wasn't fresh enough and the hot food was ok. I'm pretty sure I just didn't go at the right time because the boca location has impressed me every time.

I'd give the food by itself four stars, which is really good for a buffet in my opinion, but the server earned the fifth star with exemplary service. We came for the lunch buffet on a Tuesday afternoon and the place had a good amount of customers. We were seated and our drink orders were taken right away. Our server was great. She was always there to take used plates or refresh drinks. The lunch buffet had four separate stations: hot food, hibachi, sushi, and cold food. All of the stations were neat and seemed well-maintained. The hot food section had all the fixings you'd expect: fried rice, orange chicken, spring rolls, Mongolian beef, etc. I tried a little of most dishes and was pleasantly surprised that everything was good. My only negative critique would be that the hot food was plated on plates, which makes it nice to look at, but the food was not really hot unless you got it as soon as it was plated. Thankfully, they put out small portions so the food is usually replaced quickly. I didn't have any hibachi, but I saw other customers ordering and it looked good. The sushi station was had a great selection of different sushi. The pre-made sushi was distinctly separated into a raw section and a cooked section. (Good idea!) There was even an attendant to make special orders if you didn't find what you wanted. The cold food station had shrimp cocktail that was so cold my fingers started getting numb while peeling them. (And I mean that as a good thing.) Overall, this was a great find. Thank you for helping me find it, Yelp!

The hibachi grill is an excellent option on the buffet. Choose raw steak, shrimp or chicken along with fresh broccoli, mushrooms, onions, bean sprouts. The chef cooks it right in front of you with your choice of garlic sauce, teriyaki, etc. My favorite dish was the garlic sautéed green beans...crisp and delicious. Other cooked dishes include fried rice, baked mushrooms, Mongolian beef, bourbon chicken to name a few. Also a variety of small bites like rangoon, fried dumplings, spring rolls, chicken wings. Also, they have a sushi section with constantly replenished fresh sushi...Probably about 15-20 varieties. For dessert, there are about 10 different small cakes/cookies plus several different ice cream flavors including Sugar-free Butter Pecan which is good. Service was efficient- they promptly clear plates and refill drinks. In the past, we have spent more time here and enjoyed cold sake too. Try it. Weekday lunch for 2 people was $30 including our iced teas.

Went there last Wednesday night on a recommendation from a friend. I'm so not one to complain when it comes to buffets because, come on, it's a buffet! You don't like it, you move on to something else! Except everything I moved on to was just plain gross. The wontons/crab rangoons had ZERO filling in them, the "fried" rice was undercooked chewy brown rice-nothing fried about it! Everything else was just greasy and bland until we got to the raw sushi bar- the one saving grace of the night. Aside from the funky smelling oysters, the sushi was awesome, so hats off the sushi chefs because they saved the night. I'm willing to give the place another try because they've been in the community a long time, but I would hope a Wednesday night dinner service would be just as good as a Friday or Saturday night. We will see!

We went to Shinju for lunch and were so grossed out we could barely eat what was on our plates. We used to come here often a few years ago and they were good but they must have switched management or the cooks or something. Every item we put on our plates looked like it had been sitting out the whole day and tasted old. The rice around the sushi was hard as if the sushi was old. Every dish from the hot food bar had so much oil and grease in it it was dripping and sliding around the plate. Not even the dessert was good... All the fruit was old tasting and the icecream had ice chips in it. Shinju has definitely gone down hill.

I've eaten here many times, I love their sushi and hibachi and it was definitely my favorite buffet in the area but the last time I went I got food poisoning from their crab (I knew it was from the crab because it's the only thing I ate that my boyfriend didn't eat and he didn't get sick.) so after that, I really have no desire to return because that was excruciating. I just don't want to take the chance. Was a loyal customer, but I definitely never want food poisoning ever again. :(

shinju shinju! This is where my love for sushi started back in the day. I mean for less than $15 you have a variety of surprisingly fresh and delicious rolls all prepared "live" you also have the regular japanese buffet which to me is not worth wasting sushi space for. They also have hibachi which i will do from time to time which is pretty awesome. I have been there for dinner and gotten unlimited CRABLEGS which is amazing .. yes unlimited and they bring them out to you JUST STEAMED! They also have this Bomb green tea ice cream! it doesn't taste much like green tea at all but its delicious! must try this place out!

Came with hubby the first time a few months back because of a yelp review. We were hooked! We've been here a few times already and every time it hits the spot. Last night was our first time coming and there was a wait! But the wait wasn't very long. They had lots of large parties. When we finally went to our table we noticed how PACKED this place was but yet, food was coming out consistently from the kitchen, the oysters, crab, and shrimp were SUPER fresh! Sushi was on point as always, and the restaurant was clean and the staff extremely prompt and friendly! Lets not forget how awesome the made to order hibachi is! We like to go for dinner (better food selection) so we paid about $50 for the two of us but its worth every penny! Enjoy!!

I used to like coming here and my fave from all other 3 locations. Dine in for dinner, for $18.99 has become an insult. Sashimi not fresh. Selection of hot dishes are not hot and not Appetizing. Either bland, salty or too sweet. Fried has after taste of grease. It's just not worth it. Oh And that MSG, I guess they were once good and now they rely on MSG to make food tasty. Now I have to endure migraine for a few more days. Definitely, never coming back. It's not worth it.

A consistent multi-location restraurant for a sushi buffet. They always have fresh fish but the pieces of sashimi seem to be getting smaller over the last year. We find that this location is okay and the Boca Raton is just "a little better" (desert station), but their patrons are "ruder". So if you wanted "all-you-can-eat" sushi you can expect a consistent meal at any of their locations. Cheers!

Went there to attend a birthday dinner. After a little bit of a wait we were seated. The service was good and the food was very good. There was a large selection of fresh sushi. There was a little something for everyone. The dessert bar was a little disappointing. But that being said, I will be returning. They had a nice birthday activity to celebrate someone's birthday with the music coming over a music loud speaker.

Fast, Well Prepared and Attractively Presented. Our first trip to Shinju (as a result of a Yelp review) was most enjoyable. What a wonderful discovery! (It is 11:15 pm and I just got back from a 4 mile run to work off the dinner... at least some of it.) From a sushi bar that had what appears to be 30+ types of sushi and sashimi, a seafood bar with boiled shrimp and crab legs to a hot food line with about another 30 entrees and a hibachi made to order service. The Mother Load of food. (Yes, I do know that mother "lode" is the proper spelling but "load" really seemed more appropriate here. Hence, the four miles... ) The sushi and sashimi were attractive, colorful and tasty although the spicy tuna roll was not a spicy as it is in other sushi places. The boiled shrimp were already peeled and the crab leg clusters had claws. (Most places do not offer peeled shrimp since the shells slow you down and frequently the meaty crab claws are missing.) The hot food line up was very appealing to the eye... not like the school cafeteria so many places strive to emulate. And the diversity of colors, sauces, vegetable and meat offerings made for a wonderful symphony of edible delights. There was asparagus tied together with steak strips, several traditional Chinese dishes, ribs, teriyaki salmon, shrimp and vegetable tempura and even crispy fried chicken wings. Again, all were well prepared by caring hands and eyes that were tuned in to delighting the eye of the diner. One disappointment was that everything was on the mild side. Perhaps that was a concession to the dining population. I just happen to prefer Szechuan style...hot and spicy. But it is what it is. The desert bar had ice cream and assorted pastries. To my surprise, the thing that looked like a brownie was either a brownie or its first cousin. So many times in a Chinese restaurant, the thing that looks like a brownie is a cube of red bean paste which is not at all interchangeable with a brownie. If you have ever had your mouth set for a brownie and bitten into red bean paste, you know exactly what I mean... (Oddly, going the other way does work. You have resigned yourself to red bean paste and Hey, it IS a brownie!!!) The service was attentive and polite. The price for the huge offering of food was reasonable. You just might want to pick a cooler night to dine here in case you need to go running later, too.

The ladies that work there are always nice. I never got something here I didn't like. Honestly try this place out if you haven't.

Yes! This exactly what I want in Asian buffet. The selection is not huge, but everything is quality. The sushi selection is worth the price in of itself. I love how the sushi chefs are right behind the counter making sushi as it is needed. Everything I have disliked about other Asian buffets is made right here. No 500 dried out and picked over items here. No wondering/worrying how long the sushi has been sitting. Nice place, your typical buffet staff and sushi heaven here boys. If I lived anywhere near here I would be a regular. Highly recommended for those who need a positive Asian buffet experience at least once in their life.

This interview is courtesy of the fiancé. We went here for his 26th birthday last night, and he wanted to review it. The sushi was really high-quality and was much better than any sushi buffet I have been to since sushi Takara. They had a good variety of roles, including traditional and American-style rolls. Was just the offer they also had to sheeny, which I suspected was the offcuts from the sushi from making the sushi, but was so good. Just a little thick. They had a good cold seafood bar, with very fresh oysters, and snow crab legs. There was also a hibachi grill, which we did not try. They did has a very good shrimp tempura. It was very well decorated and nice looking inside. And I will come back again. The waiters were very quick.

I really like the idea of a sushi buffet because I have a really hard time ordering at sushi restaurants. I would rather have one piece of each roll than have to make a decision (this results in overly expensive sushi trips and me being way too full). At shinju I get to do that without spending a ton. The sushi is fresh and always tastes good. I also enjoy the salmon sashimi and during dinner they have crab legs and oysters as well. My only sushi complaint is that they don't get all that creative with the rolls. Many of them taste the same, and not everything needs to have cream cheese and be tempura. As for the hot food, it's not that great. I will usually get a bite or two of chicken or a wonton to break up the sushi, but its not why I go there by any means. I actually think the boca location does the hot food a little better than this location. We have a joke that you have to get some sort of dessert or you will never get your check. The desserts are not great, but they do have an almond cookie that I can't seem to resist. The service is good. My water was always full and the dirty plates always cleared. Overall be prepared to be satisfied (read: stuffed) for a reasonable price.

Decent buffet. The sushi guys will make you any roll you want by request. Desserts are pretty killer for a chinese/ japanese buffet. Its about 20 per person which isn't awful but just make sure you go hungry cause you will want seconds.

I've been here a few times for lunch and a few times for dinner. I've always gone during prime time so the sushi has always been fresh and service very prompt. I wouldn't say it is the best sushi, but you will get lots of variety for the price. Its a little hidden inside of a Publix shopping plaza but at the end of the shopping strip. Not hard to find. The buffet is kept very clean and their crab legs and oysters were very fresh. Go hungry, its allot of food.

I don't come for the Sushi, I come for the Hibachi and the other meat and vegetable selection. I'm not going to try to convince you that this is the ultimate Japanese buffet place but Shin-Ju is definitely consistent. I come here about 4-5 times a year and the Hibachi and food is fresh and delicious. They are good at what they do and they are consistent with it. The staff is friendly and courteous. Can't ask for more from a quality franchise and Japanese buffet restaurant. That is why we keep coming back.

Hey, if you like Japanese food, sushi and such, check this out! The array of sushi is amazing and you can have as much as you want. I haven't found anything yet I didn't like. But I have to admit, I love the hot foods even better, especially the coconut shrimp. Incredible, best I've ever had. If you can, come early when the food is just put out, for the best selection and freshest flavor. Enjoy!

I really like Shinju. The sushi and food is always fresh, the restaurant is clean, and the atmosphere is nice. For the price you pay, the quality and variety of the rolls can't be beat. For roughly the same price as one sushi roll/entree at another Japanese restaurant, you get unlimited variety and choice of rolls. I love the fantastic roll, crazy tuna roll, Mexican roll, and anything with tempura shrimp. This place is great for a new sushi fan who doesn't quite know what their favorites are yet. Here, you can try most of the standard rolls risk-free and figure out what you enjoy. Everything is labeled and you can clearly see what's in each roll. The sushi chefs will also make hand rolls to order, which is nice. They also have a great selection of Japanese salads, oysters, and peel and eat shrimp. Dessert is nice, and typical of other Chinese/Japanese buffets: bite-sized cakes, almond cookies, tapioca pudding, fresh fruit, jello, and lots of different flavors of ice cream. Try the green tea ice cream! On my last visit, I went with my mom, who is a certified sushi hater. I was a little worried about what she would enjoy, as the Chinese/non-sushi area is decidedly smaller than the sushi one. She was very pleased with the non-sushi selections and had some great dishes. She enjoyed the usual favorites: sesame chicken, bourbon chicken, fried shrimp, tempura vegetables, beef and mushrooms, sauteed shrimp, and a krab and cheese dish. The quality of the Chinese food is a little higher than your average Chinese buffet as well. They also have a hibachi grill where you can have your own made-to-order dish. So, fear not, sushi haters - this place is for you, too! I recommend going during the off peak hours. If you show up at noon for lunch, you'll find most of the rolls picked over. The chefs are always preparing new ones, but it's still frustrating to get up there and realize your favorite is missing. If you go at off times, the buffet is yours and the selection is much better. Just a tip! I have eaten here for lunch and dinner and IMHO, lunch is a much better bargain. Lunch runs $11.95, whereas dinner will set you back $19.95. (Both meals' prices are higher on weekends.) The only differences I noticed at lunch is that there is no sashimi or crab legs, and some of the Chinese food is different. (They still have plain raw fish, but it's on rice - no sashimi.) Everything else is the same. So, unless you really love sashimi or crab legs, I'd save a few bucks and come for lunch only. My one negative about this place is that the servers are never very attentive. It can be difficult to get a refill on drinks or to get your check at the end of the meal. I know it's a buffet and I shouldn't expect much in terms of service, but still. Bottom line: come here hungry and ready to fill your belly with delicious, fresh sushi and Chinese food. Yum!

The sushi here is amazing! I usually go around early lunch hours and the food always tastes fresh. This restaurant is served buffet style with an option to do a hibachi bar. With a wonderfully huge variety, the freshness depends upon how fast each item is selected. With a reasonably priced lunch and a semi reasonably priced dinner, this place is a must for sushi lovers looking for a good variety.

This place is by far one of my favorite Japanese buffets. They have a variety of different sushi rolls and sashimi on hand. The selection of hot foods is great. Another plus is the crab legs for the dinner service. The servers are helpful and polite. It's pretty popular in that part of Broward so there will a good wait time if you are going during the weekend. I've gone there often and have never had a disappointing experience.

For the price, I can't really complain--it cost $12 for lunch and I ate all I could, but the quality of the sushi was questionable. The spicy salmon was orange for some reason and there was hardly any fish in the rolls. I am Japanese and I am telling you....this place's price performance is great. If we want great sushi(authentic), we normally go to Blue Fin in parkland but usually this place is good enough for us. I like coming here for dinner rather than lunch time. They won't have any sashimi for lunch.

This was a great buffet although most people should be aware that the dinner service is a little pricey. Once you learn that the buffet includes a large selection of Sashimi, sushi, and crab legs you understand why but it's still nice to know. They had a good selection of standard Japanese fare to include a teppenyaki bar and good tempura. There were lots of people enjoying the food which was good to see. My only concern was the service. It was very tough getting refills on drinks or getting the check. Other than that, I recommend this place above the standard Chinese buffets that most people go to.

Yay! Decent Japanese buffet in which you want to have friends/family come together and stuff their faces on random Japanese/Chinese dishes. Where else can I get crab rangoon, shrimp tempura, stir fry broccoli and sushi in 1 setting? I don't eat fish so I can't testify to the sushi but if you're going for Asian buffet, I'd highly recommend taking family/friends to Shinju over East Fusion Buffet. Way nicer, cleaner, and less depressing.

I was really disappointed in this place. The place is new, beautiful, clean, lots of space, and mediocre food. The sushi was ok- out of 15 rolls, maybe 1-2 had shrimp, and a lot had cream cheese, which I don't like. It's the same cost as other sushi buffets, ($9.95 lunch weekedays and $1.00 more on weekends), The chinese food was bland and tastless, the tempura veggies dry and overcooked from sitting out for so long. I don't eat sashimi, but they did have what looked to be good, but no cooked shrimp on top of rice- a staple. but they had lots of the imitation crab- yuck. Chicken wing small and dry, hibachi way too much soy sauce. Again, chinese food bland, sushi mediocre and hibachi ok. Go somewhere else and pay the same for better food. Go to Sakura, or Edo buffet in Parkland or Koi- far better than here. I would not pay $17-19 for dinner, although I understand they have a better selection. The reason the sushi is super cheap is they focus on veggies and cheap ingredients..again, no shrimp???????

I like this place - for a buffet. Unlike other places (like the now-defunct Sushi Takara), they don't stuff their rolls with rice in order to try to fill you up. Their non-sushi and dessert sections are also above-average for a sushi buffet. This is a restaurant that definitely needed to be opened in Coral Springs. I never have a craving for Shinju, but I'll certainly never turn down a lunch offer here.

Been here a couple of times, the hibachi grill is included in the buffet and that's awesome! They usually have crab legs or oysters for the dinner buffet. They are huge! Price is reasonable and there's ample parking space being in a plaza. Just don't go on rainy days unless you don't mind getting your feet soaked in rain water. It gets busy during weekends and you have to wait for a while, but it's okay because the last time, we got a seat in 7 minutes or so.

Tucked away and hidden at the end of a Publix plaza, this place is truly a gem waiting to be discovered. It is an all you can eat, serve yourself, sushi and hibachi buffet. I am quite a fan of fresh sushi, and every visit here so far I've been very impressed. The buffet is kept very clean and sanitary, and you can choose from a large assortment of rolls, nigiri, and sashimi. This place doesn't stop at the basics though, preface your meal with a fresh seaweed or ginger salad from the buffet, and finish it with fresh fruit and your choice of ice cream and pastries. The hibachi grill was also quite a pleasant surprise! For those of us that don't get full off of sushi alone, you can travel on over to the grill and order hibachi style steak, chicken, shrimp, and vegetables. Also, more traditional dishes such as egg-rolls and beef in garlic sauce are available. All of this comes included, so I suggest that you come hungry and ready for some quality food, all of your choosing. This restaurant deserves all 4 stars!

My friend convinced me to try the Church by the Glades tonight so we came here for dinner afterwards. I've been to almost every Japanese buffet in NYC which usually go for ~$35 pp and I was shocked to see Shinju only charged $18.95??? Plus this place was spotless, clean, and sanitary. A+++ Being a seasoned Japanese buffet diner, I always avoid greasy Chinese food, avoid rolls with cream cheese and cheap ingredients, and avoid tempura if it looks hard or soggy! Of course the reviewers below had a bad time since they didn't know what to get. Ok, I admit if you don't like rolls w/ raw fish, there aren't many good options. Everything I had was great and I mean delicious! The sushi/sashimi (large selection), calamari, coconut shrimp, the oysters, the Alaskan snow crab legs, and the hibachi. Plus they also have cheesecake and green tea ice cream among many others in their dessert section. Considering what you get, this is a steal! The only thing I think they're missing is lobster tails, the black chinese snails, beef takai, crepe station, and an udon noodle station. Hmm, now the price makes sense. I go to Oriental Market which is close by about once a month for Korean groceries and I'll definitely stop by again. Just noticed there's another Shinju down here in Miami so I'll have to try that one as well.

A very pleasant atmosphere for a buffet style restaurant. The staff is courteous and helpful in answering questions about the selection of sushi. They provide a very nice variety in their selections of foods, and their pricing is very reasonable. The ingredients tasted fresh which is an important factor when selecting a good sushi restaurant.

Shinju has a very nice selection of sashimi, sushi, hot dishes, stir-fried foods to order, beer, etc. and all of it seems very fresh. I think this meal is well worth the $20 for any lover of sushi. Sure it is not made to order with the banter of sushi chefs giving you individual attention, but for the price you can't beat Shinju.

This is a well run, clean all you can eat chinese buffet with an extensive sushi bar and cook to order hibachi. It is an exceptional value. I enjoy it for lunch, when the price is a bit less but some of the evening frills are missing, such as sashimi and crab legs. You can tell the hibachi chef what you want and it will be cooked to order. I notice that some have said they would prefer more or less soy sauce etc, but you can actually tell him exactly what you want - soy, garlic, hot sause etc - just don't be shy. The roll assortment is great for lunch, and you can choose from (estimated) 40 different rolls by the piece. There are also three or four common sushi (but no sashimi until dinner). Unpeeled shrimp and green lipped mussels are always on hand. The hot buffet table is not my thing but lots of patrons seem to go for it. I sample the wings, green beans, and mix my own egg-drop hot and sour soup. One thing I usually like, but is done poorly at this restaurant, is the calamari rings. These generally have the taste of uncooked dough nad get worse as they age on the hot tray. I like the seaweed salad. For regular salad, I wish they drained the water off a bit better. I really like this restaurant and there is always something for everyone.

Located in the Publix shopping plaza at University Dr & Ramblewood in Coral Springs, FL. I was surprised how big the place was with a capacity of approx 180. Large buffet area with a big assortment of sushi, rolls, etc. I stopped by to sample the sushi for take-out, but there was ample seating and the place had more people in it that I expected. in addition to the Japanese buffet they have sushi, seafood, hibachi and a grill. The sushi was super cheap, I think I paid about $0.75 per roll which is less than half the price of other area restaurants. And the quality matched the price, easily half as good as any other nearby spots. If your on a tight budget or short on time but crave sushi, this will suffice but its far from a memorable. Otherwise, look elsewhere. Notably, Sakura Sushi is down the street.

We absolutely LOVE Shinju...their sushi buffet is amazing in terms of both quality and variety. They also have hibachi and a pretty good selection of Japanese/Chinese food in addition to their excellent sushi offerings. I am definitely happy that this place has been thriving and shows signs of sticking around in Coral Springs!!!

This place overall is pretty good. Its big and spacious and I was sat down immediately at 6:30pm on a Saturday evening. It was pretty busy but everything was continually stocked and the waitress always refilled my drink before it was empty. The line for the hibachi was between 10 and 15 people long, so I didn't wait in that. But everything else went pretty smooth. The sushi at this place is quite good. There are a lot of varieties, including sashimi. If you want to go here just for sushi, you will not be disappointed. The section of chinese and seafood in this place is satisfactory, but it is small. The selection was good, but they didn't have a lot of different types of food that normally come in buffet restaurants like this. There was no chinese doughnuts, the chicken variety was small, it didn't have a small section of american food. They had some good stuff like coconut shrimp and shrimp tempura, but I thought they could expand on traditional items a bit more. One negative about this place is that I was surprised that some of the stuff was not hot. I went specifically at prime time for dinner so that everything would be fresh. But some things like the steak asparagus and the coconut shrimp were not fresh, and you could tell they had been sitting out for a while. Its hard to solve this problem at a buffet, but they should get some better steamers to keep the food warm. The worst part about this place was the crab legs. I read a lot of reviews about how good the crab legs were.....I must assume that these people don't know what a good crab leg is supposed to be like. They serve them cold over ice, which is fine, although I prefer mine to be hot. And the legs were full of water when you cracked them open that tasted like it had been in there for hours. I must assume this place just dumps a thousand legs into a huge boiling vat of water for a few minutes, refreezes them, and puts them out as needed. They do nothing to drain the legs or to try and cook them any other way. I was very disappointed in the legs. There is definitely potential here if they can change the way they cook them. I did not try the oysters or muscles. I figured after the crab legs this could be a bit of a risk because theres so many ways those can go wrong. Overall I don't know if I'll return here or not, at least not for dinner. $19 plus tax and tip was a bit pricey per person for what they offered. It had its good spots, but there are cheaper places out there that are better.

FANTASTIC AND A PLEASANT SURPRISE! I don't normally eat at buffets but was in town for business and saw the great reviews. The sushi was wonderful and the price even better. I was amazed at the variety and quality of the food. This will be a regular stop on future trips.

I love this place... I go here at least 4x a month. They have a great selection of all sorts of rolls as well as delicious sashimi and sushi... For those of you who can't do the raw foods, there is a great selection of hot foods as well as a hibachi bar. Ohhh and then there are the crab legs which are always great (which you can order hot). The waitress' are all very friendly and they play a really funny Happy Birthday song for Birthdays. Anyways, enjoy!

This is a great spot in coral springs i love it. I went here for my boyfriends birthday dinner and it was a great spot that I picked out. Its located at a publix complex but there is plenty of parking. Its a little hard to find at night but heads up for those that are not familiar with the area. Now the food was clean it was the second time me and my boyfriend tried sushi and now we can say we love it. There is so much to choose from at the sushi bar so its great for newbies to pick and choose what they like. The regular bar was great as well all types of meats and seafood and the wok bar was a great treat as well. The service was very attentive and nice I really have no complaints for this place as I been to the boca location and coral springs. I think the whole decor looks lovely. Would def recommend and its pretty affordable even during dinner with all the food you are eating 17.95 not bad!

Just got home from here tonight and as always it's very good. I don't typically like buffets but it's always so busy that their seafood doesn't sit out for long which is nice. The sushi bar is good, the seafood bar is great, and the cooked area is great also
